LLK self-performed the design, supply, and installation of solutions necessary to mitigate hurricane damages caused to Green Life Farms 290,000 square foot Greenhouse in Punta Gorda, Florida while creating a sustainable energy and food production facility. The team designed/converted the existing glass roof systems with a customized polycarbonate glazing and gutter system, designed and installed a new ventilation system, replaced the shade system, and tied all new upgrades into the existing environmental control system with the focus of dramatically reducing operational costs while achieving the desired environment.

Project Scope

  • Convert existing glass roofing system with 8mm: 1700 gram diffused polycarbonate glazing system.
  • Remove existing external shade system and galvanized steel gutter system and replace gutter system with aluminum gutter.
  • Remove existing steel insulated panels and install white/black/white polycarbonate to each side of pad system.
  • Installation of wet wall system with thrip screening enclosure on South exterior wall of greenhouse.
  • Installation of HAF’s in the trusses of greenhouse normalize temperature and humidity.
